Sailfish

This house has a dual purpose.  First and foremost it is home to a young family, but it also needed to accommodate a structural engineers office for one of our trusted consultants.  Each of these needed to have a clear address, without one of the uses dominating the other.  

There was also a balancing act with making sure that the office space was able to be open and comfortable while privacy was afforded to the backyard to allow kids to play without feeling watched.  

The simple material palette reflects a modern beach shack, with sharp, clean cladding highlighted with natural timber that will develop a patina as it ages
