Zenith Showroom

Zenith Interiors engaged Base Architecture to design their new Queensland commercial space on the second level of a new low rise building in the design hub of Newstead. The design was to reflect and embody a flagship showroom, and the primary objective was to bring clients and staff together to share, collaborate, socialise and learn.

As leaders in the commercial furniture industry, Zenith wanted their showroom to demonstrate their collaborative approach with clients. The planning needed thoughtful consideration to meet Zenith’s brief for display flexibility, while incorporating enough storage to display the vast number of singular chairs.

The 700m2 single level floor is long with natural light to the front and rear of the space. The centrally located, full height, open air garden was a natural divider, and assisted in the planning breakup of a larger workstation zone, entertainment hub and smaller scaled collaborative seating displays. The soft palette used within the entertainment joinery was selected to reflect Zenith’s desire to mirror the relaxed yet sophisticated, residential entertainment spaces of contemporary Queensland.

The open plan staff area towards the rear of the plan continues to utilise the muted finishes palette and was located to best access the balcony space and natural light. The interior planning uses large layout joinery with storage below as to divide the space while allowing the staff to use it collaboratively. The space affords spatial division with softness by using a floor to ceiling sheer curtain element to close off the space as required.
