Dowse Bar is a bar for the locals. A new take on the old local the bar is very simple, paired back and fitted out using the most limited of materials. Concrete and spotted gum timber make up 90% of the space, with furniture also designed for the space out of the same materials.
The intimate size of the space, the humble street presence and the modern take on some old local ideas, such as the coloured glass windows and the tiled columns, make this a space to escape to on any given night of the week.
Traditional craftsmanship was utilised in construction of the doors and timber joinery to ensure the space had an enduring quality about it. This space is designed to be here for a long time.
