“I enjoy creating place-responsive architecture rather than simply adhering to architectural trends.”

John grew up surrounded by talk of great architecture. His father and grandfather were architects, and holidays involved visits to many iconic buildings. Known for having the best documentation skills in history, John’s peers at Base also admire his reliability, consistency and ability to remain calm even in high-pressure situations.

As a member of the Base team for over a decade, John says every day continues to offer surprises. His experience spans everything from multi-residential to renovations, high-end homes, commercial and hospitality, with his day-to-day involving the design, documentation and project management of a range of architectural projects.

Having been involved in high profile projects that have won regional architecture awards, one of John’s main highlights continues to be seeing a project from idea inception through to completion.

Regardless of the project type or scale, John aims to be an innovative thinker and produce sustainable, first-class design results for his clients. He sees architecture as a way of improving people’s lives in a multitude of ways.

John is a proud husband and father of two little girls, he is passionate about watching and playing AFL, surfing, snowboarding and fits in the odd game of tennis.
